On a brighter note, your mentioned his ‘coveted’ fruitcakes. I love fruitcakes. The best fruitcake that I ever had was when I was in Madrid in 1976. It was baked by a Filipina friend, unfortunately we lost touch. Is it possible to get a copy of the recipe of your uncle Louie?
