Proyekto Pilipino ep. 68: Addressing Involuntary Hunger and Poverty

“The DSWD will work above and beyond what is expected of us. This is to ensure na responsive ang lahat ng mga programs na ini-implement natin – na napupunta po siya sa mga dapat at sa mga nangangailangan.”

Today’s episode discusses the current state of involuntary hunger and poverty in the Philippines. We are enlightened by the government’s important program to address this pressing issue in our country. “Walang Gutom” aims to aid food assistance for the most needy families while continuing to encourage them to seek jobs that can help them lessen and eradicate the hunger they are experiencing.

Father Tito Caluag, together with our resident guests Carlo Santiago, Leloy Claudio, and Manuel L. Quezon III, sat down for an afternoon of illuminating discussions with DSWD’s Assistant Secretary Atty. Baldr Bringas about the Food Stamp Program by the department. This program hopes to support the daily food needs of the members of these families and eventually help them graduate from poverty and hunger.
