Bro. Eddie tries his luck

In English and Filipino, the call of Bro. Eddie to open some ballot boxes and go beyond the provincial certificates of canvass was presented to the canvassing committee.

Bro. Eddie invoked the theological arguments presented during the 1986 Edsa People Power Revolution depriving the dictatorship of any legitimacy.

At the same time, he made a deliberate and emphatic appeal to people to not bring things to the streets, and for the government not to take a harsh line against those that do decide to rally.

The appeal in the form of a letter, which also invoked the moral views of Cardinal Vidal of Cebu, was then turned into a motion by Sen. Pimentel: open three ballot boxes to be chosen by the opposition.

The motion was defeated. Canvassing continues and despite the efforts of other oppositionists, will most likely conclude tonight.
