Happiness is Hawaiian Punch

Dateline: Washington, D.C.

It turns out that it’s really much more pleasant to go to the U.S.A. via another country, instead of directly via an American airline. My flight from Seoul lacked the usual rituals required in NAIA: the taking off of shoes and belts, the scrutinizing of bags, and I was even allowed to keep my lighter (no one asked for it). And there was a smoking room right near the gate! Surprisingly, on the plane, the cutlery was all stainless steel, even the knife.

Not much by way of updates now, am cross-eyed trying to fight jet lag. Busy day tommorow, will report on the day’s events probably on Thursday.

  1. Blessed, blessed smoking rooms. It is the thought of these pitstops that keep me sane on long hauls 😉
