It took some time because of the events you know are taking place within the ruling coalition but I asked for a definitive response from Francis Manglapus, involved with the Gibo campaign from the start and now party president. My question, based on your claim that the Teodoro platform was up since November, was the following: "When was Gibo Credo and Platform officially approved and published?"

His response, which I consider definitive: "One week after the start of the national campaign."

As you know, the national campaign began on February 8-9. And I've put forward previously how Teodoro could not have had what you claim, a platform up in November, because of what Manglapus and Magno had told me earlier.

So for the record, he isn't your candidate?

Again: I checked (see previous note) and he did not have a platform and was told his platform was still in the works as of the guestings of Francis Manglapus and Alex Magno on my show. I've linked previously to the Laks Kampi CMD party platform that predated both Teodoro's formal entry to the party and his candidacy, so it will be interesting to see if there were any changes from the time he started making proposals to the time that most but not all were eventually included in his platform: consider how explosive his preference for congress meeting only when required and not continuously, might be (if, as you claim, the platform was up, why did nobody else notice this, not media, not even his supporters, consider the feb. 9 promotion on FB.

It was written as Gibo Teodoro's platform in November 2009. Only recently, maybe a few days ago, it was changed to the Lakas platform, maybe for the sake of the local election campaign.

Why did you refer to him as my candidate? Just because I correct you with gross error you are label me as such? Can't a concerned citizen correct this misinformation you are posting just for the sake of accuracy and truth? Ayayay!

It certainly was puzzling to hear in the news a while back that SMC was divesting of its ownership in the number 1 dairy and juice brand in Australia and New Zealand and to learn later about their Meralco purchase. It tells me that the opportunity costs were too big to ignore.

And while it definitely is an unresolved empirical question whether a conglomerate strategy is superior to that of a concentration one in the long run, all I know is that I am paying a lot less for my electricity in Australia compared to what I had to in the Philippines. It really makes you wonder why power is so expensive there and what type of market structure or competition policies are needed to bring the costs down.
