The survey is fatally flawed. You can "win" even if you are actually the respondents' third or second choice. Of course that is why the Rider was necessary. But that too is questionable because statistics don't work out very well in breaking news situations. Here SWS may be measuring the sympathy vote. BTW, the graph on NONE or Don'T Know only plots what SWS counts as that: all three spaces blank! This curve is actually much higher if you add in all the data that should make it 300%. Then the None or DontKnow win at about 150 to 170%!

"Escudero’s empty rhetoric and dilly-dallying only worsened his ratings. Especially now that he has finally aired a TV ad, it drew a lot of flak from the public, even those who are Chiz believers and supporters."

Palagay go minamaliit ni Escuder ang publiko at pati supporters nya. Miriam did this type of make-them-uto-uto campaign in the '92 elections and it worked for her. But not for Escudero.

One thing is sure. Any presidential candidate perceived by the voters to be annointed by GMA will lose. And this trooping to the Villar's camp by Kampi/Lakas and Gloria's lackeys will surely tagged Villar as the annointed one. Villar will lose the election, and Gibo, too.

But I agree, at this point in time, it's still too early to have any clear picture of the 2010 polls. I believe typhoons Ondoy and Pepeng would be a big factor in the next round of surveys.

I dont think noynoy's cory factor will matter now considering it was villar's people who were on the frontline when the calamity striked and rescued people. He might get bashed today for putting his name on the goods he gave, but the main point is, he was there helping people.

As for escudero, remember the youth outnumbers the old people. I can tell you this, as a 27 years old male with a good job. I care less what the old people will tell me who I want to vote. They had their chances. Now its our time to mess things up too.

Teodoro's time to shine was gone. With a bungled mess the government did when they were really need it. I dont think everyone will drink the kool aid he is shelling out.

TO Brian: Exposing Money Villar

http://www.stuartsantiago.com/exposing-manny-villar/

Nacionalista Party president Sen. Manny Villar, was asked at one point why he had chosen to remain silent on allegations of wrongdoing on the controversial C-5 road-extension project, which critics said would benefit his property firms.

The former Senate president clarified that he did not want to appear before the ethics committee and later the Senate as the committee of the whole because the rules of the hearings had been purposely made to pin him down, ostensibly for politically motivated reasons. On the contrary, he said, he had always explained his position directly to the people, through the media, that the ultimate beneficiaries of the road-extension project would be the residents of outlying areas and those using the C-5 highway.

Villar was also asked who could possibly be his running mate in next year’s polls. He declined to answer the query, saying that since there were no less than 20 presumed candidates for the presidency at this point, the situation is still very fluid and so many things can still happen before November 30, the last day for the filing of certificates of candidacy.
