Team Bansot

The administration, including a photo finish for the last slot that was dangling, announces their list. The opposition announced their slate yesterday. The lists are (in alphabetic order):

Administration:

Edgardo Angara
Joker Arroyo
Michael Defensor
Jamalul Kiram III
Vicente Magsaysay
Tessie Aquino Oreta
Carlos Jericho Petilla
Prospero Pichay
Rafael Recto, Jr.
Vicente Sotto III
Juan Miguel Zubiri
Luis Singson

Opposition:

Benigno Aquino III
Allan Peter Cayetano
Anna Dominique Coseteng
Francis Escudero
Panfilo Lacson
Loren Legarda
John Osmeña
Francis Pangilinan
Aquilino Pimentel III
Sonia Roco
Antonio Trillanes IV
Manuel Villar, Jr.

My column for today is Team Bansot (who ever though life would imitate my column?). I know one thing, ahead of the elections. I am not going to vote for a single administration candidate. I will vote a straight opposition ticket. I only have one vote, but by golly, I intend to protest with it. I consider Osmeña the worst in the opposition lineup but even he is a fragrant flower when compared to say, Singson or Magsaysay.

Running the gamut of reactions, from piccio hailing the administration, to Manila Boy itemizing the weakness of the list, to Uniffors saying it’s plain useless; kamasupra just thinks the administration went slum book crazy Daily Musings handicaps the administration and the oppposition slates.. goddesstrish notices the “other” senate slates -including singer Victor Wood. unsleepable‘s mind is pretty much made up.

  1. UPn,

My uncle and a cousin was executed by NPAs and they even have the nerve to admit in public. Indeed where is justice?

If you want transparency and accountibility is the answer to vote for candidates with dubious character? If you want the Melo report then the people should go and get it from teh Melo commision?. Election is definitely not the answer. There is already a representative from the UN who going after the bottom of this killings.

  2. Oops the message shoudl be adressed to Truth hurts not to UPn.

And truth hurts, will your cravings for justice be solved by name calling and putting down and bad mouthings some ones physical imperfections.

  3. CaT, supposed intellectual people have emotions too…and yes, there are those allowing emotions get the better of them more than I care – for quite a long time now. napansin ko din, medyo may belo ng kadiliman ang marami….the veil can easily be lifted but it stays where it is – clouding perception of what is real..

maybe it’s nice and comfy and familiar from that vantage point..

  4. Gloria haters have a funny habit of using the term “people” as though everyone agrees with them. I see these hyper-critical individuals as nothing but obstructions to national weal. On my recent visit to the country, I have seen with my own eyes the remarkable progress the nation has achieved under GMA’s leadership.

I have talked with a lot of locals from all walks of life and most of them agree that the country is moving forward in the right direction. Many have expressed
displeasure about the unending attacks by morons – people whose only goal is to oust GMA at any cost and let the country be damned in the process.

  5. Peacer,

If you are going to castigate candidates who will align with someone with legitimacy issues; what’s your answer for those who will align with a group whose titular head has plunder issues?

P.S. Only those who are going to vote for Senators other than from either side can throw that question back.

  6. Quoting rego:

“If you want transparency and accountibility is the answer to vote for candidates with dubious character?”
    — you need to be more convincing or in fact add more deodorants to gma’s slate. Just simply hard to swallow! Sino ang ipinagyayabang mo, si Mike Defensor?? Ughhh.

  7. I don’t personally like the inclusion of Nikki C. and John O. in UNO’s slate but they are far more better than those in the admin slate.

  8. Let me give credit to gma’s message. Sharing this news excerpt from Philippine Daily Inquirer (online edition):

“The President’s message to the ruling coalition’s national and local candidates is clear, and that is shun character assassination and instead “concentrate on explaining to the people how they can be part of the bandwagon of positive change,” said Bunye.”

Comment: How can people be part of the bandwagon of positive change?…sana noon pa. It’s too late! People are tired, tired of all these moral and technical/legal violations committed by the admin folks.

  9. When he first ran for senator, Joker Arroyo’s campaign tag is ‘Ubusin ang mga corrupt.’ He spearheaded the impeachment against Jose Velarde. But now he is under the ticket of Jose Pidal’s wife. Wow.

But I really find GMA’s intro for Prospero Pichay. ‘Pichay: Ang gulay ng senado.’ What was she thnking? Doesn’t she know that calling a person ‘gulay’ means he’s health is in really bad shape? Oh well. It seems true for Pichay. This elections…si Pichay pupulutin sa kangkungan.

  10. Manolo SAGUTIN mo to —

“Writing in your blog has ceased to interest me but
your nasty, insolent opus “team bansot” in your unfortunate excuse for a column is a vile attempt at humour that is not a bit funny. What’s the matter, you ran out of epithets to cut the President of the Philippines down to your level of mediocrity?

Since you have demeaned your own column by indulging in personal ridicule (thought you were above that), let me offer you a dose of your own medicine. Your making fun of the President’s acccent and diction only serves to make one take a second look at you and your boring and dismal tv show, “the explainer”. Your marbles-in-the mouth manner of speech is not the greatest and your wooden, dummy-like appearance reminds one of the old comic stip character “Kenkoy”. Worst, your “history” readings appear to be a bit slanted to fit an agenda or partisan ideology, rather than a faithful presentation of pure facts.

Who cares about your one vote. I’m sure the “Unity Ticket” and its supporters will not miss it. No one is surprised by your announcement either! Please don’t give too much importance to yourself.”

I totally agree with Bencard. What you said in your column has just made you look worse than some tabloid showbiz gossips. I thought you are an intellectual. I am really disappointed with you, kala ko pa naman logical ka! Personal ridicule would always be the worst argument!

Secondly, peacer you said that Chiz and APC represent the true sentiments of the youth!? Sino may sabi sayo!? You are assuming TOO much! If they truly represent the youth’s sentiments, bakit alang sumasama sa mga rally-rally na ini-espouse ng mga taga-opposition, lalo ng dalawang ito. You know why? Becuase most probably, ala naniniwala sa kanila!

Rego is right, these are the politicians that we NEVER SHOULD want or dream of — SO YOUNG,YET SO TRAPO! What hope can we have from them? CHANGE? No they will never give it to this government. Am telling you, they will be worse than all of these present TRAPOS combined! ngayon pa lang nga, TRAPONG-TRAPO na, how much more pag mas lumaki na ang mga ulo ng mga yan!

What we really need are true independent-minded and ‘progressive’ people like Sonia Roco, A. Trillanes, and yes, even Joker Arroyo!

  11. Bansot, bansot, bansot, bansot, bansot, bansot, bansot, bansot, bansot, bansot, bansot, bansot, bansot, bansot, bansot, bansot, bansot, bansot, bansot, bansot, bansot, bansot, bansot, bansot, bansot, bansot, bansot, bansot, bansot, bansot, bansot, bansot, bansot, bansot, bansot, bansot, bansot, bansot, bansot, bansot, bansot, bansot, bansot, bansot, bansot, bansot, bansot, bansot, bansot, bansot, bansot, bansot, bansot, bansot, bansot.

Ate Glo’s power did not diminish a bit. Perhaps, to her detractors, hoping, it does. So, Bencard, rego and Ura, what’s the big deal? Anti Ate Glo posters on this board is not going to change. Don’t be so slow.

Stop asking for answers. Mamaya niyan e tanungin tayo kung bakit hinde sinasagot ni Ate Glo yung Hello Garcie bullshit.

Lets face it, Sa kapal ng mukha ni Ate Glo “Bansot” is nothing! Pakapalan ng mukha. Huwag niyong sabihin na manipis ang mukha ninyo.

Chill, boys. Mabuhay si Ate Glo.

  12. Come on, Bencard. If you can’t abide Manolo, simply vote with your mouse. Just click off. Despite that despotic cretin in Malacanang, you’re still free to make that choice.

If people heap ridicule and contempt on GMA (by the way, she’s not the President. Ask Garci.), she fully deserves it.

  13. “so young and yet so trapo.” oops, i thought you were referring to mike ultimate sycpohant defensor. why no mention of him, rego? at least chiz and allan took unpopular stand when the middle class majority chose to keep mum of, and just decided to “move on”. too late for them to find out that ginagago lang din naman pala sila. look at singson at their slate. eyuuuuukk.

excuse while i barf in my own bowl.

  14. OO nga naman Bencard, Rego, and Ura. Why not start your own blog then rip up everyone here you dislike in any manner you wish– in your own site? Promise, we’ll give you a link.

Because no matter how you dislike his opinion, it’s his “house” and he deserves corresponding respect from visitors like us.

Go build your own and rant all you want.

  15. guys, mukhang nagiging maingay na naman yung mga kakampi ni arroyo sa forum na ito lalo nang palapit na ang eleksyon.

the usual suspects, the arroyo defenders and the people who usually hang out at sassy lawyers blog (like mita) are back again para guluhin ang blog na ito and start a flame wars. i guess this is to be expected. mlq3 is a major blogger. mobyism tactics is even being resorted to, sometimes.

but like mlq3, i’m voting an all straight opposition ticket.

btw, is vicente magsaysay the same guy who was featured recently in the PCIJ? something about his birthday…

    http://www.pcij.org/blog/?p=1428

  16. I know Joker would vote against ROTC, SIM card registration, and national ID; but Lacson is in favor of all this fascist nonsense.

unfortunately Trillanes because of his background has to be excluded unless he takes a stand on these issues.

and even Manny Villar has to end his support of SIM card registration, or I would not vote for him either.

  17. Incomplete list pa ito.

Ito ang definitely HINDI ko iboboto:

    1. Allan Peter Cayetano (oral diarrhea, trapo in the making)
    2. Chiz Escudero (same as Cayetano)
    3. Koko Pimentel (one Pimentel in the Senate is enough)
    4. Tito Sotto (turncoat dimwit)
    5. Tessie Oreta (turncoat dancing queen)
    6. Antonio Trillanes (Honasan in the making)
    7. Gringo Honasan (incurable coup plotter)
    8. Richard Gomez (do i need to say more?)
    9. Nikki Coseteng (of Jose Velarde fame)
    10. John Osmena (opposed UP’s budget hike, Jose Velarde fame)
    11. Loren Legarda (political slut)

    Ito ang sigurado kong iboboto!

    1. Joker Arroyo
    2. Mike Defensor
    3. Ralph Recto
    4. Miguel Zubiri
    5. Prospero Pichay

    Kino-consider pa:

    1. Kiko Pangilinan
    2. Manny Villar
    3. Panfilo Lacson
    4. Edgardo Angara

I’ll do some backgroung checking on the following:

    5. Jamalul Kiram III

  18. the usual suspects, the arroyo defenders and the people who usually hang out at sassy lawyers blog (like mita) are back again para guluhin ang blog na ito and start a flame wars. – John

Not to mention the Arroyo family lawyer who moonlights as an amateur TV critic.

  19. john marzan, yes elections are here and yes I’m participating in blogs again because of that. what’s so weird about it? i haven’t been banned here or anywhere YET. a lively debate representing different viewpoints is a sign of a healthy democracy (and blog for that matter) so quit whining about it already.

please (o see, i said please! polite diba?) leave sassy alone, she has nothing to do with me nor i with her. your bringing her up again just tells me this: type mo siya or inggit ka talaga sa kanya….there’s such a thing as cyber stalking ya know!

i’m not calling you any names nor will i label you because your opinion differs from mine and because I refuse to be mediocre….darn, i should make that my mantra before i start a comment here!

  20. so you see mlq has crossed the line drawn by isagani cruz.
isagani cruz was right all along… they’re but one color.

subject to stress they can’t contain their true color devoid of cerebration. that is what bansot article is all about.

what did joker say? the opposition has no platform except ousting a sitting president. take it from there.

  21. Come on, Bencard. If you can’t abide Manolo, simply vote with your mouse. Just click off. Despite that despotic cretin in Malacanang, you’re still free to make that choice.

Precisely, the Phil. web despite the claim that human rights are violated, is still the freest in this part of Asia. So why censor bencard? This is the only country where you can write and call the president with names and get away with it.

Not unless MLQ3 would like his website a mutual admiration club. Hindi na kayo papasukin ng readers niyan. The more intriguing the forum is, due to diversity in opinion, the more it is popular to the readers waiting for the rebuttal and for exchange in opinion.

Chill out guys…let those differing in opinion speak up.

  22. May2007 should provide a reminder to everybody as to the difference between People Power and general elections. On May2007, a vote from a farmer in Lubao, loyal to a kababayan, will negate cvj’s vote. A vote of an Ilocano farmer can re-inforce, or negate, the vote of Bencard. A vote of a missionary currently in Davao can counter-act Q3’s vote. On May2007, a vote from a fisherman in Palawan has the same weight (ONE) as a vote of a retired teacher from GenSanCity or even the vote of Lucio Tan himself. This is in marked contrast to Edsa Dos where Marichu Lambino, cvj and others of the National Capital Area (I) reinforced the efforts of Atty Miguel Arroyo, (ii) disregarded the processes and procedures laid out in the Constitution on how to deal with malfeasance in Malacanang and (III) denied the voters of Bohol, Cebu, Davao, the Mountain Province any chance of participating. Thru exclusive (“snooze, you lose”, in cvj’s words) actions, the actors of PeoplPower-2001 brought forth GMA as the 14th President of the Philippines.

  23. guys, mukhang nagiging maingay na naman yung mga kakampi ni arroyo sa forum na ito lalo nang palapit na ang eleksyon.

Let the fun begin. Don’t be a party pooper.

You did all the noise, the impeachment, the demos, and what have you got. YOu still have GMA around.

Respond ka na lang issue. Para masaya. Parang hindi ka beterano sa forum.

  24. a lively debate representing different viewpoints is a sign of a healthy democracy – Mita

Good you mentioned democracy because that is precisely the issue in this elections (which is less about the stuff that Allen Dolina brings up). The first thing we have to remember is democracy is not just for the middle class. It is narcissistic to be gung-ho over your own democratic rights while blatantly disregarding the rights of others.

  25. I just thought that MLQ3 should have not resorted to his labelling since I hate to see that he would be called by some names too.

but didn’t you call erap and those associated with him a lot of names back then too?

  26. james,
the saddest thing is, those of us who cry the loudest at being discriminated can dish it out so nastily as well…and then choose to remain oblivious to the irony of it all.

  27. john marzan, yes elections are here and yes I’m participating in blogs again because of that. what’s so weird about it? i haven’t been banned here or anywhere YET. a lively debate representing different viewpoints is a sign of a healthy democracy (and blog for that matter) so quit whining about it already.

don’t worry, it’s my way of welcoming the arroyo defenders at apologists back to mlq3’s blog.

please (o see, i said please! polite diba?) leave sassy alone, she has nothing to do with me nor i with her. your bringing her up again just tells me this: type mo siya or inggit ka talaga sa kanya….there’s such a thing as cyber stalking ya know!

    type ko siya. that’s it.

i’m not calling you any names nor will i label you because your opinion differs from mine and because I refuse to be mediocre….darn, i should make that my mantra before i start a comment here!

i’m calling it as i see it. if you don’t like it, you can whine about it in your blog or go back to sassy and make sumbong.

Not unless MLQ3 would like his website a mutual admiration club. Hindi na kayo papasukin ng readers niyan. The more intriguing the forum is, due to diversity in opinion, the more it is popular to the readers waiting for the rebuttal and for exchange in opinion.

is there diversity of opinion in sassy’s moderated blog? or the other major pro-arroyo blogs out there? so please, don’t talk to me about “diversity” of opinion.

papasukan ng mga pro-arroyo bloggers ang blog ni manuel, because they see him as a threat in the blogosphere.

on the other hand, i couldn’t care less what the arroyo bloggers say, because wala na silang credibilidad sa akin. that’s why i don’t waste my time on their blogs anymore.

Let the fun begin. Don’t be a party pooper.

You did all the noise, the impeachment, the demos, and what have you got. YOu still have GMA around.

Respond ka na lang issue. Para masaya. Parang hindi ka beterano sa forum.

i don’t know what you mean by “fun”. but i guess that means you’re going to be actively defending your corrupt, and cheating president, and attack those who attack her. don’t worry, i get it.

“a lively debate representing different viewpoints is a sign of a healthy democracy – Mita”

Good you mentioned democracy because that is precisely the issue in this elections (which is less about the stuff that Allen Dolina brings up). The first thing we have to remember is democracy is not just for the middle class. It is narcissistic to be gung-ho over your own democratic rights while blatantly disregarding the rights of others.

gimme a break. even arroyo’s MTRCB is afraid enough of erap’s video that it’s willing to censor and ban it.

  28. cvj, oh my, my…what do I do with you? sinagot ko lang si john marzan may nabasa ka na namang iba sa sinabi ko!

kaninong rights ba pinagsasabi mo? cause i am not disregarding anyone’s rights, i’m stating my opinion! mukhang ikaw nga eh minamaliit mo opinions ng iba – again, all because they won’t conform to your views.

you know…you seem to be hung up about the label YOU gave me – middle-class – frankly i don’t care what class i can be categorized in. it’s just showing YOU are the one who seems to be riled up about class and playing victim. looks like you’re the one who’s onion-skinned and narcissistic (ilan beses mo na ginamit word na yan dito? word of the day mo ba yon?)…golly, talk about pointing fingers.

i will not even speculate or try to decipher what class you think you’re lumped with because in the bigger scheme of things – it doesn’t matter one bit. a person is only as good as his word.

sayang lang efforts mo to discredit me on this comments thread at hindi ako pikon. besides, it’s distracting from the real issues. and yes, i know…that seems to be the general idea but read MLQ’s next post and come back to me with another riposte, will you please?

hindi ko kilala si allen dolina btw.

  29. cat, rego, mita, et al.: everyone is free call me names and they have, and use whatever tool, from words to fists. I have experienced possibly every variation of ways to wound a person. and have dished out, or tried to, as good as i got, though with one difference that’s up to others to judge if i succeded or not. i think i’m free, even obliged, to castigate people for what they do, while trying to recognize that there are certain things we can’t criticize people for being -what they are. for example, in terms of gender, or race. i am fully entitled to use the president’s short stature to reflect a moral dwarfism (my opinion, of course) and to use the limited means i have to poke fun at it, considering i lack what the president and her ilk posess: the national treasury, a standing army, and lawyers to enforce their will.

but let me defend one thing, which is the value of satire, one of the oldest forms of writing. i happen to think my satire is pretty tame compared to others who are models of that kind of writing: think aristophanes, swift, orwell, even lopez jaena, rizal, recto or hernando abaya. that is what politically-involved writers do, and it stems from a choice a writer has to make. is to be “intellectual” clinical, ever-dispassionate, always neutral? not even scientists can ignore the need for political commitment. you can be clinical and dispassionate if you aren’t involved. if you’re involved, you do what you can to help your cause.

the remarkable thing is that on the whole people have stepped in to try to keep things from getting out of hand -cat in particular can be tart but remains committed to underlining the need to agree, at the very least, to disagreeing. and certainly it helps for her to point out what she thinks is going overboard on my part. rego deserves respect for standing up for his opinion that the middle is the majority and cjv for being pretty strict in seeing it as he thinks it is.

kudos to anyone who sticks it out and fights it out rather than withdrawing from the fray to sulk. but even more kudos to those who insist passion march hand in hand with reason: it’s the most human attitude of all.

  30. Mita,

    kaninong rights ba pinagsasabi mo?

The rights of those who were cheated out of their vote during Hello Garci. That issue has not yet been resolved.

frankly i don’t care what class i can be categorized in

Eventually, iyan din ang sinabi ni Bong after he repeatedly got taken to task. Do you follow the same playbook?

read MLQ’s next post and come back to me with another riposte, will you please?

    Done.

hindi ko kilala si allen dolina btw.

Allen Dolina is the commenter at February 12th, 2007 at 5:39 pm above.

  31. ura, “barangay bansot” has been around for about a year now, but i’m glad you finally noticed it.

and thank you for your critique of my show. my only comment is no history, ever, can be a recitation of pure facts -the selection of the facts to present is itself, a critical decision.

i’m a bit puzzled, though: you oppose escudero and cayetano, hold up trillanes and roco, and stand up for joker. so why did trillanes and roco cast their lot with the opposition?

  32. I got lost in all the back-and-forth, but if you dont mind my asking, what does sassy lawyer have to do with all this? I read her blog sometimes. So does MLQ3.

To all those who seem to be offended by MLQ3’s column in Inquirer, it’s satire. It’s a legitimate form of political commentary that has been in use since they invented political commentary.

  33. cat, i think there have only been a couple of cases of my banning people. in one case, i lifted the ban because some people complained it was censorship, one other ban i let stand because that person was making death threats and the like about a businessman who isn’t even in the news.

  34. CVJ, kaya nga may PET eh! at kaya nga disapppointing ang opposition kasi wala din silang nagawa sa mga unresolved issues.

as for responding with the same answer – could it be possible we are all getting the same response when we voice our INDEPENDENT opinions and getting called the same names – not to mention, could this de cajon reply be in response to putting us in a box?

  35. is there diversity of opinion in sassy’s moderated blog? or the other major pro-arroyo blogs out there? so please, don’t talk to me about “diversity” of opinion.

“Bitterness is like cancer. It eats upon the host. But anger is like fire. It burns all clean.”

Have your eye doctor check your prescription glasses. Sassy is spelled Sassy and Cat is spelled Cat. What has Sassy to do with MLQ3’s website?

You got your own website, you have the right to moderate.

MLQ3 can choose to censor us if he wishes to. But then, he
would restrict the opinions to those you only want to hear. The failure of a leader is caused by hearing only one side–that side which has nothing but praises.

    Pikon, talo.

  36. From Rego:

May ask what are teh issue that Joker palyed so dumbed during his 6 years in the congress? becuase find him the most effective and most objective fiscalizer of the Gloria administration together with Jun Magsaysay and Teddy boy Locsin.

during 2001-2004 (before hello garci), joker– who chaired the blue ribbon cmte.– was one of GMA and mike arroyo’s biggest defenders. he helped stonewall and coverup for pidal during the senate hearings. as blue ribbon cmte chairman, sabi ni joker na bawal raw ang ebidensiya ni lascon vs. pidal kahit na xeroxed o “authenticated” copies yung mga documento o tseke. kailangan raw original copies. maganda sana kung under oath sabihin ng bank officials kung galing sa original ang mga tseke at documento na yan o hindi. pero “the real pidal” iggy invoked his “right to privacy” kaya wala ring nangyari.

those who approved of iggy’s “right to privacy” were the “pidal 10” (kinda like the “craven 11”) which included joker, noted, recto, noli etc.

    http://www.newsflash.org/2003/05/hl/hl018930.htm

and he used his blue ribbon committee to conduct a three year investigation on victor corpus’ expose on lacson’s “hidden billion dollar accounts” in the US and rosebud’s and ador mawanay’s narcopolitics-gate. pero even wala rin.

nung sumabog lang ang gloriagate atsaka lang siya naging less pro-arroyo. pero tahimik lang siya sa isyu na election rigging, unlike noong panahon ni erap re the corruption issues.

so he joined hands with the opposition on the issues defending the senate against arroyo, pero kampi pa rin siya kay mr. at mrs. arroyo pagdating sa jose pidal at hello garci.

And in the end, sumama rin siya sa administration, the same admin na gustong i-abolish and senado at itulak ang CON-ASS.

so does that mean na payag na rin siya dito, para lang may access siya sa gov’t campaign funds at helicopter accomodations?

    http://www.ellentordesillas.com/?p=910

  37. i don’t know what you mean by “fun”. but i guess that means you’re going to be actively defending your corrupt, and cheating president, and attack those who attack her. don’t worry, i get it.

It’s fun because I consider election a circus.

It’s fun because it is not worth getting sick by agitating oneself to defend any politician who has his own personal agenda. Ano nababaliw?

  38. but didn’t you call erap and those associated with him a lot of names back then too?

Did I? I still have to review all my posts here in MLQ3 if ever I did what you are accusing me of.

Bad habits never die. If I have done that in the past, I would be doing it here up to now.

You should know me better when I was being called all sorts of names in that forum and in the website that was devoted just for my bashing. I did not stoop to their level. Mas matangkad ako sa kanila. Dahil ang utak ko nasa itaas at hindi nasa dibdib.

You have so much emotional baggage that you can no longer move. Don’t cry for him, or you’re crying for an opportunity lost?

  39. as for responding with the same answer – could it be possible we are all getting the same response when we voice our INDEPENDENT opinions and getting called the same names – not to mention, could this de cajon reply be in response to putting us in a box?

i had to laugh when these self proclaimed “independents thinkers” who in the past claim they are sick and tired of mlq or PCIJ’s blog because of dis and dhat (but mainly because of the anti-arroyo positions of those blogs), are now coming back to manuel’s blog, ngayong palapit na ang election season, because they want “their side to be heard” raw. because these people say it’s good for manuel’s comments section to have “diversity” of opinion raw.

puh leaze! if you want to comment, go ahead. spare me the BS and the lectures.

MLQ3 can choose to censor us if he wishes to. But then, he
would restrict the opinions to those you only want to hear. The failure of a leader is caused by hearing only one side–that side which has nothing but praises.

i read and heard many of the opinions of the arroyo defenders here and from other blogs (every now and then). and i must say, in most cases it’s pretty much a waste of time. if i have to read and respond to every stupid comment from these people, i won’t get anything done and would only ruin my day.

  40. Cat, that’s precisely my point. If the Phil. website is the freest one around, why censure mlq3? I didn’t censor Bencard. I simply said that he has a choice – take mlq3 or leave him. Besides, I don’t have the right to boot him out of mlq3’s blog. What I cannot understand is why Bencard has to take Team Bansot so personally that he has to call mlq3 names. Does Bencard have a really, really personal relationship with GMA? I don’t know. Hasn’t he heard of political satire?

  41. john marzan, you have sunk so low you are making this sound like the schoolyard bickering you probably always lost as a kid…i have to laugh, i really have to laugh! nagsalita na ang may-ari ng blog, basahin mo naman sinabi nya…but gee…grow up before taking on the big boys, wontcha?

  42. CVJ, kaya nga may PET eh! at kaya nga disapppointing ang opposition kasi wala din silang nagawa sa mga unresolved issues. – Mita

You’re passing the buck. My question is, why, in light of the Hello Garci revelations, did you not become part of the Opposition?

  43. Napikon na yata si mlq3 kay bencard kaya sumobra ang haba ng latest post. I guess bencard hasn’t heard the word satire, but i also feel the awful accent was stretched way too much. (Exaj na kumbaga). Enwey, the only criteria of a good anti-gma article is a libel suit from the Don. El Padrino must be trying to figure out how he can sue Manolo. (When will Don Fatso ever appear in Barangay Bansot and make everyone an offer they cant refuse?)

Btw mlq3, is One Voice taking the same stand: Vote Straight UNO? It would be interesting to know. Unfortunately, OV hasnt updated its website. Puro anti-ConAss pa rin.

I hope OV would advocate SNAP presidential elections instead. I know it’s almost next to impossible, but I share Conrad de Quiros’ argument that it is the only true referendum. As the EXPLAINER, could you please enlighten us how a snap election could materialize, if it’s ever possible? Bencard might be interested to watch that one.

Basta Vote 9 (UNO) lang ako. We cant do anything about these pro-GMA people, apologists and all. We all have interests to protect, nagkataon lang na their business interests depend on GMA staying in power. As Erap’s immortal line goes, weather-weather lang yan.

If only UNO can really make a coherent campaign line, a sweep is never impossible. It can use the Palace’s favorite spin these days that UNO’s only agenda is to oust a sitting president. It’s only right to oust an illegitimate sitting president. By all means, (she got there via unconstitutional route anyway), let’s oust GMA. Play Hello Garci in all campaign sorties, it will drive GMA nuts.

Parting shot: Let Bong Austero and like-minded bloggers move on — to Canada or any paradise they like. May you all rest there in peace.

  44. Mita,

Why are there unresolved issues? It’s not that the opposition is wanting in its desire to resolve those issues. The truth (there’s that word that’s anathema to your lying queen) of the matter is that your cheating queen does not want to subject herself to the full constitutional processes (as in all the way) so that the truth (there’s that word again) will be out. The truth (there’s that damn word again) of the matter is that your stealing queen uses the national treasury, the armed forces, and the police to stifle the truth (that word again).

That’s the only reason why there are unresolved issues. Don’t blame the opposition. Blame your lying, cheating, stealing queen.
