Bogchimash,

You are much much to generous.

The first thing you are about to learn is that the "walking legal library" is more appropriate to some of other fellow bloggers here.

Actually, my fingers have just been doing a lot of walking themselves on the library called the WEB.

So it is the Mariano case.

Indeed the Makati charter does relinquish the resolution of their territorial disputes to an appropriate agency or forum.

You might be right in all of these; but still I would doubt that then President Estrada would comprehend all that information. Not that the decision not to interfere was wrong, but clearly someone else's brain was talking there. Something the Senator would clearly know to be the case.

Noynoy Aquino and Ping Lacson in one slate? Is this a joke? And throw in JV Ejercito too! That speaks a lot for the kind of politics that we have generated ne. I think I'll continue being an OFW kung ganito nangyayari sa bansa natin. Mukhang joke na ang elections.

Justice League,

Yes, it is the Mariano Case (1995). In that controversy, to make the new charter of Makati (authored by you know who) constitutional, the respondents were forced to admit that it is another body's decision that will provide the specifics of the boundaries. So even when the special law did not provide for torrens title type of accuracy, it should not be declared unconstitutional. It is, as they said, not their responsibility; such specifics should not therefore be demanded from the legislature. The respondents won that case but in the process, they clipped their congressman's powers. With such stipulation, he was later estopped from flexing his congressional muscles as regards the territorial issue. He had to be hands-off in the Pasig RTC dispute. The Mariano case practically gave the disputed lands to Taguig. Going by history that go far back to American times, the disputed lands belong to Taguig. The succeeding laws, too, ultimately favor Taguig. Evidence is on Taguig's side. Only the all encompassing wisdom of Congress can thwart it but the hands of the congressman who could initiate it were already tied, thanks to the Mariano case. That was when he needed Erap to meddle in the affair.

If you must know, I got this story from the chief of staff of an FVR lackey who was retained by Erap as consultant/adviser. When it got hot in the kitchen, months prior to the impeachment trial, his boss went back to FVR. This info came from a staunch EDSA Dos supporter, no less.

hey take it easy. i am not on anyone's side. all i wanted was to hear more original thoughts. also, so that lesser mortals like myself do not have to second guess anymore, i hope these original ideas can be connected to other goings on. the usage of links will provide more space for these further elaborations. i mean hvrds no disrespect. if you think about it, an implication of my entry above is that i actually value the person's original thoughts and would like to hear more of it. peace man

bogchimash, on the other hand, a mentor i respect would say "RTFM".

imho, i think it's a privilege to hear someone like hvrds give a first person account of his encounter with Joseph Stiglitz. that's one of the things that make this forum worth visiting. i also think that his comments are on the long side because they cannot be shortened without loss of information. for terms i cannot understand, that's what the dictionary (or google) is for.
