I have no problem with Manolo’s reply to Justice Cruz’s column.

However, I always believe that respect for others’ opinions must be unconditional. I’ll still respect your opinion even if you don’t respect mine, because to do otherwise would be going down to your low level. To say that I will respect your opinion to the extent that you will respect mine bespeaks lack of sincerity.

Thank you, Manolo, for challenging Cruz’s bigotry, ignorance, and hate. I simply don’t understand how people who claim to follow or espouse Christ’s teachings can justify hating other people because of who they love. There’s so much I would want to tell Cruz and others who think like him, but you already did so quite eloquently (and I couldn’t have done any better).I always think: when people claim to speak for God, does God shake His (or Her) head and wonder why they can’t simply shut up and listen more carefully instead?

Initially, I thought the Inquirer should be critcized for publishing Isagani Cruz’ article. It’s very hateful. Why condemn gays working in salons? They’re doing honest jobs. He should reserve his condemnation to the vile and corrupt (whatever their gender)who are the real threats to our society. I suppose the editor was put in a very difficult position. He might be accused of censorsip if he/she didn’t publish it. Thank you Mr. Quezon for writing your reply.

i think i can agree with arikasikis’ observation. i made known my observation that some pages in this blog(bastusan na) , to me should not have come from someone with the stature of mlq. in fact i thought that page is a hate campaign blog . now mlq is seeing shadow of himself in the mirror or in isagani cruz’s writing.

Your article “Don We Now Our Gay Apparel” is probably the most misinformed, misguided, hate-filled, hypocritical, bigoted essay I have ever read in my life. I wish this man many lesbian and gay descendants to dance the chacha in pink dresses on his grave.

There really is no explanation for such anger. It’s obvious that he feels personally threatened by gays, quite ironic for such a supposedly macho man.

I feel sorry for him and for the Inquirer for having to print such a vile piece of work.
