Garcillano found?

ABS-CBN Interactive breaks the story Garcillano back in RP, says wife:

Mrs. Garcillano, according to Carandang’s report, said her husband questioned why only his telephone conversations with a person who sounded like President Arroyo have been made public, when in fact, he talked to a lot of candidates in the 2004 polls, including several opposition figures.

“We want everything to come out,” Carandang quoted Mrs. Garcillano as saying.

Carandang added: “She said that Mr. Garcillano received calls from people on both sides of the political fence asking him to perform services to protect their votes. She said she does not want to characterize it as cheating but protection of votes.”

Mrs. Garcillano said that she and her husband went into hiding for fear of their lives when the wiretapping controversy started.

She said that she and her husband returned to the Philippines last week from an undisclosed country.

According to Mrs. Garcillano, the people who helped them leave the country were neither from the administration nor the government but these were friends,” Carandang reported.

She said her husband is not under government control or being held by the opposition. She added that “friends” are helping them move to different locations in Mindanao to avoid detection by authorities.

Something was up, as I speculated here and here. Big hints, in retrospect from places such as RG Cruz’s blog here and here and here. This is the Mother of All Scoops for Ricky Carandang.

  1. I would just want to believe her that their friends were protecting them

this is very possible as seen on TV and real life

sana it could be as simple as that……

Saw my comments from the links medyo napagsabihan nga ako ng host ay nasabon pala sa e-mail

but if they really want everything all facts no hold barred I hope a venue could be provided maybe by ricky or soeone else….

  2. TIMING IS EVERYTHING: Why now? Because Christmas is just around the corner. After a whole lot of sturm und drang for a few days or even a few weeks, everything will die down in the glow of of the coming Christmas season, less than a month away. The President has a really mean streak when she wins is what this says to me.

    To DJB

I almost forget it is almost christmas we still have no christmas lights yet….
Do you really find this move a winner….as in tennis or chess?

  3. What I read from above about the “scoop” is that it seems so familiar …refer to the commentaries in one of the links

  4. Also read the article of Dong Puno and I submit that the issue must not be washed away, without demeaning the academe’s search for the truth…….

  5. I wonder why it took Garci (or his wife) several months to come out with such “sublime” statement.

Let’s see if he has the moral and physical courage to come up with the goods.

  6. you forgot to add the link to RG’s (identical) comment-post in my site and here in your site (yesterday?).

it started as a commentary about PBB, then he gave an “enigmatic” one liner in the end.

that was clue enough… thing is, nobody from the palace is ready to give any form of comment about “the return”.

pgma is in “sporty mode”. sec. bunye is mourning the death of his sister. ermita, maybe later in his weekly presser.

congrats (bloggers and journalists): ricky, rg and manolo.

ang galing talaga ng mga taga news ng dos. totoo yan.

  7. You know they did that in the early 90s and installed that woman – Aquino – and she was just a dummy. Anytime they revolt, they just elect more of the same. They just never learn. The Philippines is a hopeless country. They had 1000 chances to get up and be a serious player and squandered all of them. It’s just useless and hopeless.

    ……
don’t worry the next generation is just more or less 20 years away…..

  8. Don’t know with you Gweilung but with people like DJB
and his views even when erased will be cached by google and so goes for the rest of the blogs

The next generation can decide from themselves what went wrong and do something finally!

ps we also have commenters like carl

o what a google cache he would be….

  9. He must have a seaprate comment line for he stands above the rest

    we have our host MLQ
whotakes us back for theFilipinos around the globe to have a look and see….

  10. It took Garci months to reappear because that’s how long it takes to make a script.

Now, let’s sit back, relax and wait for the presentation of either confession, sarswela or moro-moro, depending on one’s preference.

  11. Lets take it easy on Gweilung. I think he wants to join the conversation but just doesn’t know how…I think he wants to love the Philippines but sees us hating it and wants to help in that direction. He misunderstands of course, but I dont…

  12. Well as you may have Know be by now DJB I wittingly or unwittingly make people think

look at the back issue on little brown brother….

    go to the last comments….

  13. Your all over the place Karl! Didn’t we just see each other over at …? hehe. You show ’em buddy. “ALL YOUR BANDWIDTH ARE MINE!” — it’s free and helps the host climb up the Google Tree…

  14. A word to Commenters ::: the global spider-crawlers like Google apparently do not make a distinction between “posts” and “comments” — they all become part of single webpage “post+comments” that get scanned and cached together. So if you post comments here, you are blogging for free with MLQ3 doing most of the work. All you do is EMOTE and RANT or COMMENT. So always thank the host: Muchos Gracias Primo! or my preference:: NO BLOG IS AN ISLAND!

  15. DJB., I think if one turns his mindset 180°, has a drink, relaxes, and prepares himself for gross humor and satire, one may appreciate Gweilung’s outlandish efforts at farce. It’s a bizarre attempt at a joke, isn’t it? Welcome to the zoo!

  16. Be aware that your comments are FOREVER because the Global Mind is now more than biological material, it is silicon logic too and it never forgets. Just ask Jonathan Tiongco! So you may think you are addressing just the few who come here, but you would be wrong. Most of who will read what you say, (if you say something worth remembering) have not yet been born!

  17. Carl, I think Gweilung might be about 17 years old and probably enjoys watching reruns of that old fave of mine about Kung Fu in the Olde West, was it David Carradine as the Grasshopper? — Gweilung is about the age of many younguns in my family. They say a lot of SATANIC things too, but I just chuckle. We need to introduce him to the sublime pleasures of balut though which he doesn’t seem to know comes from duck eggs, not chickens. But I do have good sources of the oocytic delicacy in Pateros…

  18. Come Back Gweilung! No one here is MAD at you! We got bigger fish to fry. You might be able to help us. I hear bloggers are getting clobbered in China. Know anything about that crap?

  19. Folks, I think we should ALL visit Gweilung’s website and INVITE him back. I really am curious about China…of which I could tell you SOMMMMEEE stories ohhh boy just you people wait!

  20. Oh well, I tried to visit Gweilung. His door is locked and you can ring the bell but there’s just no answer. Hope he comes home and decides to unlock the comment gate. Must be afraid of something…

  21. I think there should be PEOPLE POWER EVENT if and when Garci shows up at Congress. Something Teddy Boy said, which I caught again only on replay convinces me that the whole objective is to “pay respects to the Majority” in Congress, i.e., to close the book on Garci at least as far as the Congress is concerned, to discharge the arrest warrant and subpoena, and to read a deny all Affidavit which will be submitted. Teddy Boy speaks in his usual sardonic voice, but he is acting as the Administration’s messenger boy. It’s the last chance b4 Christmas. Anyway there aren’t any better spectacles. Maybe the usiseros will turn out in FORCE.

  22. Shouldn’t Grace Garcillano be arrested on the spot for aiding in the flight of a fugitive from Justice with a warrant for his arrest? Maybe they should concentrate on her to put pressure on him?

  23. Sorry that future leader thing got back to my head

why don’t we mould someone into a Fidel Castro who can afford to laugh at Dubya during Hurricane Katrina yet have an open arm a hurricane or two after….

remember the spanish american war started in Cuba
we were just part of the link…..

    Now Garci…

I hope I won’t be hunted by abs cbn giving them the idea that RG might sue them for plagiarizaing his blog
and some how the story trigerred by Dong Puno by saying we should not forget Garci….
    I still watch them almost 16 -20 hours a day…

  24. you guys are sharp and witty… i mean that as compliment
my tatay used to read opinion column first in any newspaper
partly sort of picking up his example, it is delightful to read your thoughts
